On the morning of Saturday the 12th of March while I drove into the City towards the Enterprising Doctors Workshop. I wondered about this question and why our Business (Great Business Platforms) had agreed to sponsor this event.

I  arrived, walked into the Enterprisingdoctors conference venue at Cass Business School and  was pleasantly surprised.

These are my observations of the day:

  • Meet and greet at the door was with a big smile by Dr Abeyna Jones, who is also the Co-Founder.
  • I found the mix of speakers, who were well experienced and diverse excellent. ( This included Doctors in the private sector, public sector, student doctors and importantly non-medical professionals from marketing to accounting.
  • The amount of time given to delegate Doctors to receive quick coaching, rehearse and present an elevator pitch was spread out and managed.
  • Q&A, Networking time was sufficient
  • It can only get better.

 

I thought to myself in this  very disruptive  environment; it’s only a matter of time before the most risk adverse “Employee minded” Doctor comes out with a thirst for Enterprise.

The day was extremely well balanced and, in my opinion, a great place to start thinking of Business.

Did I think it was worth sponsoring?  YES

Was the event value for money for doctors in attendance?….the truth It was a steal!

This is what happened at GBP NW London Business Club “SELF PITCHING”

Persistent and Consistency are truly keys to success, Thursday gone was an opportunity to witness this saying in the flesh as first generation Property guru Bims Aaron Akingbade, shared consistent insights into the UK property market. The Icing on the cake was when he Introduced his young dashing Son Reggie. Reggie Akingbade  quite simply shared how he was able to sell a £1.6m  property in one day! (With the mastery of Bims Akingbade)

 

Fashionmixers, Founder Caroline Akorita, was second to pitch on the evening,  Caroline a rookery to public speaking endeared the audience with her story of persistence and how she reduced from a dress size 14 to an 8. Importantly she shared the how!

GBP Business Club started off with the roar of a Lion, on Tuesday the 26th of January,  3 billed speakers and one last minute additional.

The first item on the agenda was a surprise 90 second Introduction from everyone present as Sam stated. You have to be able to express your value to anyone anywhere in 90 seconds!

The house was filled with Property Investors, Financial Advisors, Big chain Business owners ,fashion designers, authors and Technologists. You can only get that type of mix at GBP Business club
